Day Rehabilitation Unit |
 |
Rehabilitation within the limits
of a person's illness is our aim, not only physically,
but socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our patients
come for the day in a group or for an individual
appointment. Either way, there is provision for a
variety of services such as physiotherapy, complimentary
therapies, diversional therapy, art therapy, hairdressing
and always, most important of all, time to listen,
understand, help and care.

Complementary Therapy |
|
St Margaret's was the first Hospice
in Scotland to to offer Complimentary Therapies to
patients on a full time basis as part of their every
day care plan.
Nicole Campbell is the Complimentary Therapist and
has been at the Hospice for 12 years. Nicole offers
therapies such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Massage
and Reiki, thus using the holistic approach in caring
for physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs.
Complimentary Therapies in Palliative Care enable
patients to ultimately improve their quality of life.
This service is available to the Day Rehabilitation
Unit, Outpatients, Ward Patients, families and carers. |

Hairdresser |
|
Our Hairdresser, Ellen McGarvie has
been at the Hospice for the past 15 years, coming
in every Thursday to brighten up the patient's day.
Ellen had originally come to the Hospice to cover
what she thought was a two-week period but has been
here ever since and loved every moment. She provides
a very worthwhile service to the patients. Patients
can have perms, cut and blow dry, or even have their
hair colour changed - it makes them feel special. |
